The Royal Wedding on April 29th 2011 is set to clash with the 1st day of the new Liverpool Boat Show and we've all been given a bank holiday to enjoy it! :-)
I'll be exhibiting a couple of rowing boats at the Liverpool Boat Show so hope to see you there.
Ahoy-Boats will not be attending the 2010 Southampton Boat Show this month, nor the 2011 London Boat Show in January.
However, it is likely that we will be at the new Liverpool Boat Show in the spring. Decision yet to be made!
Liverpool is to have a boat show in 2011 around the May Day bank holiday!
This is the best news I've heard in a long time. Liverpool is the perfect place for a boat show. The old docks are too small for modern ships and they make a perfect setting for a boat show. Boats should be displayed on the water.
Liverpool has a long maritime history and is perfectly situated being much more central in the UK than either London or Southampton. It is easy to get to Liverpool John Lennon Airport from Europe. Liverpool is only 2 hours from London by train. There are fast ferry crossings from Ireland, north and south and Liverpool is well served by good roads. Visitors from Scotland or Wales will find it more accessible than London or Southampton. Indeed Manchester International Airport is not far away so the Liverpool Boat Show can expect visitors from all over the world. It is a great venue for a boat show.
In my humble opinion London has become too expensive and Southampton is at the wrong time of the year so well done Liverpool and Sir Robin Knox-Johnson! A praiseworthy venture. I think this might become the Nation's favourite boat show for people who have a serious passions for boats. Check out the video.
