I just received today this photo from a customer in Norway, rowing his Yole club on his fjord and I think it is the best photo that I have ever seen of a yole in use. It captures completely the essence of the boat. Click on this thumbnail to enlarge it.
I'm off to Henley Royal Regatta now. Will be there for the rest of this week. You might catch me sculling up and down in the Edon TS515 training scull. (Stop me and buy one.) It is the easiest way to get about at Henley during the regatta and offers the most freedom. Previously I have sculled around in a Yole Class.
My club, Grosvenor RC, in Chester, has a sculler in the Diamond sculls, Iwan Jones, and we also have a selected coxless four in the Wyfolds so obviously I'll be lending my support.
Then there are all the Manchester Uni people whom I have coached in the past and Liverpool Uni people and the Oxford Poly lot (now Oxford Brookes) and my old mates that I rowed with when I was a student, long time ago etc.. So plenty of people to bump into. Should be good.
