What to do when there is no wind

Go rowing of course.

In actual fact there was quite a bit of wind on Bank Holiday Monday. 17mph in fact. But if you are a sailor and you want to go for a row then this is the sort of boat you need. You will feel perfectly safe.

NEW TS515 Training Scull

Ahoy-Boats has been appointed sole importer for the EDON TS515 TRAINING SCULL from Australia.

This is an exciting, innovate boat in line with all of the boats that we sell. It is made from durable modern materials, has removable stabilisers (turning it into a mini rowing trimaran for those learning to scull) and quick release riggers for easy transport and storage.

I have one being flown over for the National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show at the NEC, Birmingham, which takes place 18th-26th February 2006. Come and see us there and place your order.

Henley Royal Regatta

I am off to Henley-on-Thames for Henley Royal Regatta tomorrow, Monday, for the week in my capacity as head coach for Manchester University Boat Club.

The men's 1st VIII have drawn Imperial College (B), which is better than drawing IC (A) like we did two years ago in the first round. As they have qualified and our 2nd VIII haven't we know that they will be no pushover but we are well prepared and looking forward to the unique challenge that Henley Royal Regatta's match racing tradition presents.

I will be contactable most of the time but there are times and places at Henley when the mobile has to be switched off.
