Demo in Solent

Apologies to those who were trying to contact me about about the demo in the Solent of the Astus 20.2 Sport trimaran on Sunday when I returned from France with it. My iPhone was on the blink as I'd dunked it in the sea at Port Haliguen.

Nevertheless those who missed the demo will be able to read about it in Practical Boat Owner in due course as David Harding, their journalist/photographer/videographer extraordinaire, came along to test this excellent multihull day boat and we had a first class sail in her. David said that the wind was the best we'd had all year for sailing in the Solent, and we were across to Cowes from Hamble Point in no time, sailing at speeds up to 15 knots.

And it didn't rain!

I'll send out an email about it and make a post here when David lets me know that it is to be published. But it could be any time within the next year!

He also took a lot of video with his waterproof camera so there will eventually be material on the Practical Boat owner web site to compliment what I have published and also what Astus have on their web site. David was very thorough, sailing at every point of sail and with and without the gennaker and he got outside the boat too in a friends RIB. He is very knowledgeable, having tested over 500 boats and he smiled a lot during the test. :-)) In fact it was difficult to persuade him that I needed to get back, as I had a long drive ahead of me!
